The medical There is an excellent private hospital in Belize City with a well-trained medical staff and state of the art equipment which is 90 minutes away. There is a regional hospital in Belmopan 30 minutes away and local clinics available. A new Urgent Care is being built in Belmopan. Medicines are a fraction of the cost of what they are in the USA, and many can be bought over-the-counter. Belize is a two hour flight to Texas, so for catastrophic medical needs, returning to the States is an option.
